AI choreography tools and motion capture AI can generate movement sequences, but dance performance is fundamentally about human presence, expressiveness, and the live connection between performer and audience. Training in technique, performing in live productions, collaborating with choreographers on original work, and teaching movement to others are irreducibly physical and human. This role faces very low AI displacement risk through 2027; the threat is declining arts funding and performance venue contraction rather than automation of the performance itself.
