Dining Room and Cafeteria Attendants perform customer-facing clearing, cleaning, and service assistance roles where physical presence, social interaction with guests, and the ability to respond to varied real-time situations maintain human necessity. Automated tray return and robotic bussing systems exist (Bear Robotics' Servi) but have limited deployment outside large-scale institutional settings. Through 2027, the hospitality element of dining service and the variability of real restaurant environments keeps most of this work human.
