Software & AI

AI software systems—language models, automation tools, and intelligent algorithms—are the primary vector of disruption for this role.

AI can rapidly cross-reference regulatory databases, simulate disruption scenarios, and draft business continuity plan templates, compressing work that once took weeks for BCP analysts. Stakeholder buy-in, conducting live tabletop exercises, managing executive decision-making during actual crises, and interpreting novel threat landscapes require human leadership. This role is moderately buffered through 2027; firms accelerating AI adoption will actually increase BCP complexity, sustaining demand for planners who can assess AI-related risks.
